The “Organic Pesticide Making Training Program,” held on December 9–10, 2024, brought together local farmers, homestay entrepreneurs, and community members at the Nagarkot Community Homestay in Changunarayan-6. Organized jointly by DCA Nepal, the Institute for Social and Environmental Transition–Nepal (ISET-Nepal), and Changunarayan Municipality under the Nexus Plus Project, the training aimed to strengthen sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practices in the Nagarkot area. The program emphasized the importance of agroecology and provided step-by-step demonstrations on preparing organic pesticides using locally available materials.
Participants actively engaged in hands-on learning and gained valuable knowledge they can apply directly in their fields. They expressed strong enthusiasm and appreciation for the skills acquired, noting that such training supports healthier farming, reduces chemical dependency, and long-term environmental protection. Many participants also shared their interest in receiving additional advanced training in the future to further promote organic farming and expand sustainable agriculture initiatives in the region.
