Established in 2001, ISET-Nepal conducts research and analyzes issues related to society and the environment. It is registered with the District Administration Office (CDO) and Social Welfare Council (SWC) of the Government of Nepal as a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization.

Improve understanding and elevate the level of dialogue as civil society attempts to respond to natural resource and environmental challenges through the generation and dissemination of new knowledge on issues related to natural resources and the well-being of society. Research publications and engagements in public debates are mediums to address the ever-changing educational needs of managing the social and environmental transition.
Conduct research and hold interactions on subjects related to environment and social development to enhance the capacity of youth through education, training, and interactions at the local, regional and national levels.
