ISET Nepal is happy to be part of the fifth session of The Bamboo Series, called “Anticipatory Action for Business Continuity-An Urgent Initiative for Nepal.” The event brought people together to talk about how businesses in Nepal can prepare in advance for risks and challenges so they can continue operating even during difficult times. ISET Nepal joined the discussion to support the idea that planning ahead is key to building stronger and more resilient businesses.
The event was organized by the NET Consortium-NDRC Nepal, EMERGE, and Tangent Waves-with support from NBI, DPNet-Nepal, DCA Nepal, ISET Nepal, and the Nepal Preparedness Partnership (NPP). All partners highlighted that the private sector needs to adopt Anticipatory Action (AA) as an important part of Business Continuity Management (BCM). Speakers shared that taking early action, understanding risks, and building preparedness into business plans can help companies better handle crises.
Overall, the event stressed that combining AA with BCM is essential for improving business resilience in Nepal. The Bamboo Series aims to promote better, more sustainable, and more inclusive business practices—moving beyond old reactive approaches. It also encourages integrating Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) perspectives so that resilience efforts benefit everyone.
