The Silkeborg Volunteers have been having a wonderful time in Bakhrigaun, Bhaktapur. They spent fun and meaningful moments with students of Shree Gadgade Basic School and learned how to make momo, a popular Nepali dish, with their host families. In the evenings, they enjoyed campfires with children, youths, and host families near the community building, sharing stories, laughter, and music.
Along with these cultural and social experiences, the volunteers have also been helping with practical projects in the village. With regular support from ISET Nepal and DCA Nepal, they, together with local students and Nepali volunteers, have started building a small gabion check dam. This work not only protects the village from erosion but also gives everyone a chance to learn and contribute to the community.
