Adopt a Village Project in Nagarkot

In Bakhrigaun, a small village near Nagarkot, farmers have started using tunnel farming to deal with their farming challenges and improve food security. This new method helps them grow crops even when the weather is not favorable, making farming more reliable. It has also helped the community become stronger by giving people better ways to support their families.

The Adopt a Village ASHA project was launched to help solve problems like low crop production and financial difficulties. Under this project, ten local farmers received hands-on training from DCA Nepal and ISET-Nepal. The training taught them practical skills and modern farming techniques that can improve their harvests and make farming easier.

With this support, farmers in Bakhrigaun can now grow vegetables throughout the year. The use of tunnels and off-season farming has increased their crop yield and opened new income opportunities. These improvements have made the community more confident, resilient, and economically strong.
