The report presented some initial insights from methodological investigations and the field studies explored the links between disaster risk reduction and adaptation to climate change. The report illustrated various roles that approaches targeted toward hazard specific and underlying systems can play in diverse contexts and in response to multiple hazards. It presented initial results from many of these areas with a particular focus on the methodologies currently being developed and used. It also focused on the climate change element, specifically the degree to which existing climate projections can provide useful insights into more appropriate disaster risk reduction strategies for each area.
