Potato is the important crop of Nepal. It is widely grown below 100 m altitude in the south to as high as 4000 m altitude in the northern mountains of Nepal. Plantation of potato requires large many labors, and faces challenges in terms of geographical structure and improper planting pattern. The project designed, fabricated and tested two row potato planters operated by power tiller. The new planter uses too row at a planting to overcome the limitations.
The prototype was developed by Binita Tiwari, Ritu Shrestha, Sambriddhi Neupane and Zenisha Shrestha, students from Department of Automobile and Mechanical Engineering, Thapathali Campus, IOE in 2018.
