With rapid urbanisation and increasing impacts of climate change, there is increasing threat of urban poverty and food insecurity along with adverse impacts on human health, natural ecosystem and overall economy of the country. Therefore, with objective of assessing the linkages between peri-urban agriculture and urban food system, this research was carried out in the outskirts of Kathmandu like Lubhu, Sankhu, Tokha, Ramkot, Kirtipur and Thimi. Other objectives of the study were to estimate additional challenges and cost that would be needed to ensue in accessing food and also to identify the components of urban food system that are vulnerable to climate change.
