Fire safety is the set of practices intended to reduce the destruction caused by fire. ISET—NEPAL carried out kitchen fire safety drills in wards 1 and 2 through the Nexus project as a disaster preparedness and management activity. The simulation focused on engaging students, women, and security personnel to enhance their capacity.
This initiative aimed to raise awareness about fire safety in the Kitchen and the household. The project aimed to equip community members to handle household and small-scale fires. Through educational sessions, the program sought to inform community members about the importance of fire safety, potential fire hazards, and the techniques for preventing and minimizing fire risks.
By fostering a sense of community responsibility, the program encouraged active participation and cooperation among residents in implementing fire safety measures and supporting one another during times of crisis.
It is expected to enhance women’s confidence, practice, and practical experience in responding to fire emergencies. Participants were empowered to take decisive action when necessary, helping to protect their homes and neighborhoods.
