Right to information (RTI) is a right that seeks to enhance transparency of public authorities by requiring the disclosure of information held by them proactively and on the basis of requests from citizens. The study focused on assessing the willingness and responsiveness of government in collecting, maintaining and disseminating relevant data and information. RTI-tracking act as a tool to access hydrological data and information related to Kosi river in Nepal. The result showed that in general RTI in Nepal is not an effective means to access hydrological data and information on rivers such as Kosi.
