ISET-Colloquium

ISET-Nepal has initiated a weekly colloquium to share lessons from field and other organizational activities. Till now we’ve had five sessions. This is expected to improve the quality of research providing researchers exposure to the issues related to research and its outputs. Professionals outside of ISET-Nepal are also invited to conduct sessions. Importance of case studies, literature reviews, and referencing to research have been discussed.

Traimbakshesh Shukla, a Master’s graduate from Norway, presented findings on squatter settlements and possession of land in Kathmandu.

Kiran Bhattarai, a PhD student shared her PhD work on Legitimacy Gap in Inter-basin Water Transfer: Case Studies of Drinking Water Provisioning in Developed, Emerging and Developing Countries

Benedikt Grauvogl (Master’s level student, ETH Zurich University) and Aike Steentoft (Master’s level student, ETH Zurich University) shared their research findings on Seismic Resilience of Communities during the 2015 Nepal Earthquake Events (November 2, 2015)

Dr. Keshav Kadel, Former Director General, Department of Forests, Ministry of Forests and Soil
Conservation, Government of Nepal shared his experiences in as a high level government official working in the field of environment, forest and climate change. Dr. Kadel has experiences in community forestry, environmental economics, social science and education (February 8, 2016).
