The report presents South Asia wide review of climate change adaptation research intended to identify present knowledge, gaps on adaptation and application including the practice of research. Scoping study makes a distinction between planned and autonomous adaptation strategies including ways in which social and physical infrastructure enable adaptation. The analysis is based on information from the literature, interviews with key informants, regional consultations involving local and national experts. Analysis has explored fault lines within the linkages of livelihoods, economic, social, and environmental ,communication systems and implications for livelihoods and poverty alleviation as climate change impacts invokes attentions for developing adaptive capacities.
