Issue Brief: Utilizing RTI to Access Information on the Kosi River in Nepal

Right to Information is a fundamental human right that ensures easy and simple access to information of public importance and further encourages transparency and accountability while sharing information. This issue brief – the first in a series of three – summarizes the findings of a study conducted by the Institute  for Social and Environmental Transition - Nepal  (ISET-N)  on  the  availability  and  accessibility of hydrological data  and  information on  the Kosi River . Specifically, this issue brief assesses the efficacy of the Right to Information (RTI) Act as a tool to access hydrological data and  information  related  to  the Kosi River  in Nepal.
