BENEFITS AND BURDEN: A Case Study of Gandak River Agreement

This paper discusses Gandak agreement between Nepal & India, its implementation & outcomes. It examines irrigation, hydropower & flood mitigation issues in plain area of Nawalparsi District in the context of Gandak Gandak Agreement. ISET- Nepal carried out this study with support from ActionAid Nepal. This research uses 1959 Gandak agreement between Nepal & India as a case study to assess performance the infrastructure built under this treaty and their service in Nepal.
